GET BAPTIZED

“But when they believed Philip as he proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.” Acts 8:12

Baptism is an outward expression of the inner rebirth that has taken place when a person becomes a believer in Jesus Christ. At GBC, we baptize people— young and old— regularly as they are ready to publicly profess their faith. Being baptized is an act of obedience that is an important part of every believer’s journey.

Q: When can I get baptized?

You set up a baptism Sunday with our pastor.

Q: What do I have to do to become baptized?

#1 - Become a Christian by confessing that you are a sinner in need of a Savior and completely helpless in saving yourself; ask God to forgive you of your sins on the basis of Jesus death and resurrection.

#2 - Request to meet with a pastor or elder in our church to talk through your understanding of your salvation and your desire to be baptized as an outward expression of what has happened in your heart. Email the church at office@genesisbiblechurch.org with the subject “Request for Baptism.” Someone will be in touch with you to schedule a time to talk. In that email, you may also request a date to be baptized. If possible, we would like to schedule your baptism at least a week before your baptism date so that we have time to prepare for your special day.

#3 - Invite your family, friends and anyone else that you want to be a part of this very special time. This is HUGE! It’s time to shout it from the rooftops!!! Let’s celebrate!!!!

Q: What if I am not yet saved but interested in becoming saved?

If you are unsure about accepting Christ and just want to talk through this with someone, we would love to talk with you. Truly, this is the biggest decision of your life. Please email office@genesisbiblechurch.org with the subject “Want to know more about accepting Christ,” and please don’t put this off. Do it now. We will reach out to you to schedule a time to discuss this with you further. In the meantime, find a Bible and read John 3:9-21 - Jesus’ conversation with Nicodemus. (You’ll find John 3:16 right there in the middle!) Pray for God to make your acceptance of Jesus clear to you. We are ready & willing to answer your questions and pray with you.
